About

Fruit Salad Events is a collective of LGBTQIA+ event organisers with a focus on connection, conversation and accessibility.

We are a collective of independent LGBTQIA+ event organisers based in London, we create events where queer folk can connect in person and through FSEC we support each other in providing these spaces for people to meet.

The events we provide are always for the LGBTQIA+ community - and always trans-inclusive - including where a more specific demographic is stated e.g. sapphic.

The Fruit Salad events collective is run by an action group of FSEC members - who are event organisers or community members happy to lend a hand.

If you put on events that fit our vision please get in touch to join the collective, either as an active member, or just to benefit from cross promotion and a community of other organisers.

Our Accessibility Process

We know how challenging it can sometimes be to find detailed accessibility information about venues.

Accessibility is key to what we do - events are always as physically accessible as possible - and event access info is always presented in event descriptions.

As part of the process of being part of the Fruit Salad Events Collective - event organisers are required to provide detailed accessibility information, so that you are able to make an informed choice about whether an event will be possible and comfortable for you to attend.

For more details on a particular event we recommend having a look at the organisers social media pages - there are usually photos and videos of spaces used and past events.

This website was designed by Geeks for Social Change to be as usable as possible, aiming to conform to WCAG 2.1 to level AA. They are open to feedback on the website, so please get in touch with them if you have any suggestions.

PlaceCal is a package of software and training developed by Geeks for Social Change.

It is a community directory and events calendar where you can find out everything that's happening in your neighbourhood, all in one place.

The goal of the project was to combat causes of social isolation and loneliness in neighbourhoods across the UK. PlaceCal's technology is what runs Fruit Salad Events.

To find out more about PlaceCal, including how to get involved with setting one up in your neighbourhood, visit placecal.org.
